Decision Time...

Why is it that marriage is such a complicated thing for us Muslims these days? As it is the thought of marrying the right candidate consumes half our time and gives us gray hairs before we even tie the knot. Then, on top of that, we have parents who become an impossible obstacle in wanting something HALAL for ourselves!

Here is a good youtube flick reflecting what kind of nonsense can be made out of something that is actually a commandment from God to His slaves for satisfying a natural urge/need in a perfectly legal way.

More on this later...

I just leave it to Allah subhanna wa ta'ala. Although I can empathize with you about how you feel when it comes to making decisions related to this matter.

Baba Ali is funny, I like the way he tackles problems related to the Muslim Ummah with a tad bit of humour being added in the mix.

Hopefully everything will turn out for the best Insha'Allah.

Choose a bride with a good sense of humour.

That's an essential trait of a Mrs.Al-republican-to-be.

Keep everything aside - follow your heart with some guidance from the mind.

Good luck Al - quite honestly, am in the same boat as you. If I get it right, I'll let you know :)

Thanks for the good wishes. I hope it goes good for you. All I can say is that parents eventually come around. Unless they are my parents, hehe :(

Best of luck to you too.

Hang in there Al, and listen to your gut. Parents shall always come around - and yup, I relate (a LOT) to what you say :)

Agree with veiled-eventually-"whats going to hit will hit you and whats going to miss you will miss you" - so do the right thing and leave the rest to Allah.

And-as a good friend always says - in a 100 years-it wont matter either way.
